Bandon A.C. is affiliated to Athletics Ireland, members compete at all levels in Track & Field, Cross Country and road.
Training: Mon and Wed night. 7pm-8pm for younger ages and 7.30-9pm for older ages or as per coaches. No training on Bank Holidays. There is a charge of €2 per night for training. You need to be a fully paid up member to attend training. C.I.T Track is also used for training.

All members and past members invited to attend as well as parent of juvenile athletes.
At the IFAM meet in Ghent, Belgium – Bandon AC athlete Joan Healy ran a 7.33 personal best in heat 2 of the womens 60m, placing fifth in the final.
Meanwhile, in Clarinbridge, Galway at the Irish Life Health National Juvenile B Cross Country Relays and Intermediate cross country relays there were some fine performances from our athletes.
In the Girls under 12 relays, Bandon placed third. Team comprised of Aoibhinn McKeogh, Grace Nyhan,Maia Mc Court, Amy Mc Carthy and Alexandra Good.
In boys under 12 relays, where they placed first for gold, team comprised of Des Kenneally, Charlie Twomey, Dara Walsh, Adam Barry and Jack Cullinane.
In the girls under 15 Relay, team comprised of ; Ella Collins, Emma Barry, Eabha Crowley, Ellen Murphy and Niamh Quinn. They finished fifth overall.
In the under 13 boys race Oisín McCarthy placed 8 th individually and was on the Cork team for gold.
Jack Cullinane placed 16 th overall and was also on the Cork team which received Gold.
Conor Galvin and Dara McCarthy were on the Cork Team that placed third.
Under 15 boys were successful too, Rory Falvey 8th, Rory Harrington 17th, Callum Mc Court 27th , Max Hallihan 33rd, all receiving county Gold Medals.
Congrats to all who medalled and competed to represent their Club and County. Thanks also to Coaches and parents .

The All Ireland Junior/under 23 Indoor Championships took place last weekend in Athlone.
Three Members from the club competed; Joey Henchy placed 4th in the 60m final, along with Scott Gibson who placed 6 th. Scott also placed 4 th in the 200m final. Fiona Everard placed 4 th in the 1500m final.
In Vienna , Phil Healy placed first in her race with a pb of 52.08 seconds.
Since receiving the Youth Award last week in Celtic Ross Hotel, Laura Nicholson has won the Senior Girls race in the South Munster School cross country. Well done to everyone.
The club wishes to congratulate member James French who has been selected for the Irish under 20 Rugby Squad for the 2018 Six Nations.

Pictured below is Laura Nicholson who was recently honoured with a West Cork sports star award in the Celtic Ross Hotel AND Cork City sports athlete of the month for October 2017 in the River Lee Hotel.
Laura was crowned Champion at lasts weeks National Junior (under 20) Cross Country Championships in the National Sports Campus, Dublin with a time of 14.21; Fiona Everard placed fifth with a time of 14.42. Both ladies are to be commended on their dedication and performances.
Both Laura and Fiona have been chosen to represent Ireland in the European Cross Country Championships which will be held in Slovakia next month . Both athletes will compete in the under 20 women race. Best wishes to them both.
Several Bandon AC members were selected to represent Cork in the upcoming Uneven age Championships to be held in Waterford on December 17th next.
Chosen were Daniel Dollard and Cillian O’Flynn; boys under 11. Amy McCarthy and Ella Collins; girls under 13. Jane Buckley and Nicola Tuthill; girls under 15. Callum McCourt; boys under 15. Naoise O’Flaitheartaigh; boys under 19. Wishing them well in their respective races.
Renewal of membership for current members will take place over 2 nights, Mon 27th and Wed 29th in the McCutcheon Hall in Bandon Grammar School from 7-9pm.

Bandon Athletes excelled the the Munster Juvenile Inter-Club Cross Country Relays held in Silveroe, Riverstick on Sunday 19th November last.
Girls under 10 placed second to receive silver. Team comprised of Clodagh Barry, Hannah Twomey, Ruby Cummins, Emma O’Connell and Ella McCarthy.
Boys under 10 placed third to receive bronze. Cillian O’Flynn, Harry McCourt, Cathal O’Riordan, Eoin Sexton and Cian Cronin.
Receiving gold in girls under 12 race were, Amy McCarthy, Grace Nyhan, Aoibhinn McKeogh, Maia McCourt, Alex Good.
Boys under 12 placed second for silver . Team comprised of Adam Barry, Dara Walsh, Charlie Twomey, Desmond Kenneally and Jack Cullinane.
Girls under 14 received silver in their race; Ellen Murphy, Emma Barry, Eabha Crowley, Ella Collins and Niamh Quinn.
Boys under 14; Callum McCourt, Fionn Merritt, Cian Walsh, Dara McCarthy and Jack Cullen placed fourth.
Girls under 16 ; Lauren McCourt, Katie Murphy, Jane Buckley, Nicola Tuthill and Olivia Tuthill secured gold in their relay.
Boys under 16; namely Rory Falvey, Gavin Kenny, Peter Ronan and Fionn Harrington placed third for bronze in their race.
Well done everyone, including the Coaches, Parents and Athletes themselves on their outstanding performances .
The 1st Jan 2018 will once again see the running of Bandon 5 mile race, this will be the 20th running of this event by Bandon A.C (having also previously been run by BandonBridge A.C under NACAI banner) This race is commonly known as the Donough Coughlan Memorial, which technically is the name of the cup presented to the winner of the men’s race.
This year, the course will remain the same and the prizes will be presented in the Bandon GAA pavilion afterward along with refreshments as usual, but there is one thing different, this year we are hoping to raise money for the Marymount Hospice.
We are hoping for a big turnout, so that we can raise a lot of money for this very worthy charity.
Entry fee for the race is €15 euro’s for runners (Juniors, minimum age is 15 – €10). There is also a non-competitive walk with €10 entry. All walkers will be entered into a draw for spot prizes afterwards,
