County Juvenile XC report

Although the rain held off on Sun and it was quite warm, the conditions underfoot, along with the wind & hilly course, made for a very challenging day for all our athletes. They all rose to the challenge with 5 teams competing on the day and all finishing in the top 4.
U10 girls team of Clodagh Barry, Ruby Cummins, Hannah Twomey, Emma O Connell, Roisin Shannon, Ella McCarthy & Caoimhe O Sullivan took Gold.
u10 boys team of Cillian O Flynn, Cathal O Riordan, Harry McCourt, Eoin Sexton, Mikey Foley, Cian Cronin, Oisin Callan, Conor Quinn, Oran Coughlan & Finn Nyhan placed 4th and Cillian got an individual 4th place medal.
u12 girls team of Amy McCarthy, Grace Nyhan, Aoibhinn McKeogh, Aoife Callan, Aoife Tuthill, Aoibheann O Sullivan, Caoimhe Foley & Caoimhe Walsh took silver and Amy got 3rd overall.
u12 boys team of Charlie Twomey, Adam Barry, Oisin McCarthy, Dara Walsh, Conor Galvin, Jack Cullinane, Sam O Brien & Des Kenneally took gold and Charlie & Adam got individual medals placing 3rd & 6th respectively.
u14 boys team of Callum McCourt, Cian Walsh, Joseph Buttimer & Fionn Merritt took bronze with Callum earning an individual medal placing 6th.
Ellen Murphy u14 and sister Katie u16 put in steady performances in their respective races, finishing 16th & 8th. Gavin Kenny & Peter Ronan u16 ran superbly finishing 4th & 5th, earning individual medals.
Laura Nicholson took the gold & County title in the u18 race, as she comfortably ran a very measured race, in full control at all stages of the race. Naoise O’Flaitheartaigh took 3rd place in the u18 race and again ran very well throughout. Well done to all who took part.
Thank you to everyone who helped with the teams, taking the scores at the finish line, erecting the gazebo and returning it to the car and for cheering on & supporting all the athletes.
