Directions to various locations used by Bandon A.C.

Bandon Town Park – Main outdoor training facility for Bandon A.C and venue for Summer Leagues


Directions from Cork and Kinsale: Take the N71 from Cork or if in Kinsale take the R605 North from Kinsale to Innishannon meeting up with the N71 in Innishannon. Once in Bandon turn right at the Methodist Church T junction and follow the signposts for Macroom/Crookstown.  Cross over the river and turn left at the Post Office and statue into North Main Street.  You will pass a church on your right.  Take the next right turn up Kilbrogan Hill (which is signposted Macroom and Newcestown). You will pass O’Hara’s Pub on the corner on your right and “Cooper Grove” pub furthur up on your left. On your left in the green area you may notice a statue to commemorate a Bandon man winning the 1903 Boston City Marathon. Continue on up the hill for about 100 metres, you will pass Chaplins on your right, just past that there is a convenience store on your left on a corner and you will turn left here. (If looking for parking for the sports, you instead take a right here towards St Brogans School, parking is available there for Sports being held by Bandon AC, drive about 200m and St Brogan’s in on your left)

Continue on about 100 metres, and you take a right turn. Continue on until you come to a fork in the road after approx 500meters. You will take the right fork, the Town Park is now on your right (inside the wall), continue on for 300 metres and you will see the main entrance. There is a Bandon A.C sign on the gate.

Directions from Killarney: Leave the N22 just after Lissarda and join the R590 to Bandon.  After 8/10 miles take turn right on to the R589 signposted Bandon.  As you arrive into Bandon you will see the Bandon Coop on your right, continue down the hill passing a school on your right. (If looking for parking for the sports, this is St Brogans School, parking is available there for Sports being held by Bandon AC) If you continue on you will then come to a convenience store on your right. Turn right just before the store, signposted Newcestown. Continue on about 100 metres, and you take a right turn.

Continue on until you come to a fork in the road after approx 500meters.

You will take the right fork, the Town Park is now on your right (inside the wall), continue on for 300 metres and you will see the main entrance. There is a Bandon A.C sign on the gate.

Directions from Bantry: Take the R586 to Bandon.  As you approach the town centre, you will see a statue on your right in the middle of a grass area and a store called D&N.  Turn left at D&N which takes you past “Cooper Grove” pub.  Take another left at the pub and continue up Kilbrogan Hill.  Continue on up the hill for about 100 metres, you will pass Chaplins on your right, there is a convenience store on the corner and you will turn left here. (If looking for parking for the sports, you instead take a right here towards St Brogans School, parking is available there for Sports being held by Bandon AC, drive about 200m and St Brogan’s in on your left)

Bandon Grammar School – Main indoor training facility for Bandon A.C


Directions from Bandon town centre: Take the Clonakility road, after about half a mile you pass the “Poachers Inn” on your right, take the second left turn after Poachers.  Continue up the hill, at the top of the hill, the road swings right, follow this. The Grammar School is just on your right. Within the grounds of the school the Sports Hall is on your left after a fork in the road. There is a car park to your right just before the fork.

Directions from Cork: Take the bypass road, turn right at the bottom of the bypass, take a left at the rounabout, after about quarter a mile you pass the “Poachers Inn” on your right, take the second left turn after Poachers. Continue up the hill, at the top of the hill, the road swings right, follow this. The Grammar School is just on your right. Within the grounds of the school the Sports Hall is about 100m on your left after a fork in the road. There is a car park to your right just before the fork.


Bandon G.A.A. Pitch


Directions from Cork: Take the bypass road, the G.A.A. complex is situated on the Kilbrittain road just off the end of the by-pass road. Take a right turn at the end of the by-pass and the complex is on the left after about 300m.

Directions from Bandon town centre: Take the Clonakility road, after about quarter a mile there is a small “mini” roundabout. Take a left here, the G.A.A complex is on your right with the entrance about 100 meters on your right.
