{"id":105,"date":"2010-03-29T12:04:26","date_gmt":"2010-03-29T11:04:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bandonac.org\/wordpress\/?p=105"},"modified":"2010-06-15T14:31:48","modified_gmt":"2010-06-15T13:31:48","slug":"pro-report-29th-march-2010","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.bandonac.org\/wordpress\/?p=105","title":{"rendered":"PRO Report: 29th March 2010"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" align=\"left\"><strong> <\/strong><span style=\"font-family: Century Gothic;\">Laura and Patrick McSweeney and Tracey  Bradfield  \tall brought home All Ireland gold medals from the AAI Juvenile Indoor  \tChampionships, held last weekend in Nenagh. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" align=\"left\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-family: Century Gothic;\">All shot putting champions,   \tLaura won the girls U16 shot, Patrick won the boys U18 shot and Tracy  took  \tthe girls U18 title. Colin Kingston won a silver medal for the boys U15   \tshot. Competing well but outside medal positions this time were Erin  \tKingston (5th girls U13 shot), Phil Healy (5th girls U17 60m), Travis  Coomey  \t(8th boys U12 shot) and Fiona Duggan (9th girls U15 shot).<br \/>\nThe Munster Junior, senior and Masters Indoors were held the previous  \tweekend on 21st March. Phil Healy won the senior women 60m and 200m.  She  \tcame second in the high and long jump. Tracey Bradfield came fourth in  the  \tJunior Women Shot. Patrick McSweeney won the junior men weight for  distance  \tand came second in the shot. Eric Stamm won a silver medal in the  junior men  \tlong jump. At Masters level, Liz Coomey won her 60m, long and high  jumps and  \twas second in the shot. Frank Stam came second in the shot. Pat Mulcahy  won  \tsilver for his 60m. Patrick McSweeney (Snr) was fifth in the weight for   \tdistance.<br \/>\nAs mentioned last week, Joan Healy and Eric Stam were recipients of All   \tIreland Athletic Awards recently at the 2009 Tipperary Chrystal all  Ireland  \tJuvenile Star Awards. Joan was presented with the Keara O\u2019Hart award  for the  \tbest performance by a sprinter in 2009. This was at the European Youth  \tOlympics in Finland, where she narrowly missed out on an individual  sprint  \tmedal in the 100m. She had an excellent sequence of runs finishing  fourth in  \tthe final. Joan was also part of the bronze medal winning 4 x 100 relay   \tteam. Eric Stam received his award as national champion in 60m hurdles,  long  \tjump indoor combined events, silver in javelin and bronze in high jump.  Well  \tdone to both athletes.<br \/>\nUpcoming fixtures include the rescheduled Belgooly 4 mile road race on  \tEaster Sunday. The second round of the AAI Juvenile Indoor  Championships  \twill be held in Nenagh on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th April. The West  Cork  \tTrack and Field Championships take place at CIT on Sunday 11th April  also.  \tThis championship is open to all juvenile athletes registered with a  West  \tCork Club and is an ideal first introduction to track and field  competition.  \tThe Junior, Senior and Masters events are open this year for the first  time  \tto athletes outside the West Cork Clubs.
