{"id":2148,"date":"2013-12-07T19:39:37","date_gmt":"2013-12-07T19:39:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bandonac.org\/wordpress\/?p=2148"},"modified":"2013-12-07T20:01:28","modified_gmt":"2013-12-07T20:01:28","slug":"new-years-day-road-race","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.bandonac.org\/wordpress\/?p=2148","title":{"rendered":"New Years Day Road Race"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Wed Jan 1st\u2026\u2026..Start the year with a 5 mile road race and enjoy the refreshments afterwards!<\/p>\n<p>Bandon A.C. 5 mile road race incorporating the Donough Coughlan Memorial Cup is being held on Wed 1st Jan 2014.<br \/>\nRace starts at 1pm with registration taken on the morning in the Bandon GAA pavilion (click for directions) with registration opening at 11am<br \/>\nThere is also a non competitive walk. The walk sets off at 12.30pm and the run at 1pm.<br \/>\nEntry is \u20ac10 for the run and \u20ac5 for the walk.<\/p>\n<p>There is a large prize fund of over \u20ac1,000 with prizes across a range of categories. Also, there is a \u20ac150 prize for a new course record!<br \/>\nThe current course records are:<br \/>\n24:36 by Alan O\u2019Shea (Bantry A.C) on Sunday 31 December 2006<br \/>\n27:53 by Lizzie Lee (Leevale A.C.) on Mon 2nd Jan 2012<\/p>\n<p>Both the run and walk start on the bypass, go through the town and out the Kilbrittain Road looping around to finish at the Old Still Bar near the Mart. Take a right turn at the end of the by-pass and the complex is on the left after about 300m. <\/p>\n<p>Directions from Bandon town centre: Take the Clonakility road, after about quarter a mile there is a small \u201cmini\u201d roundabout.
