Well done to Phil Healy who has been called up to the 4*100m relay squad as part of the Irish Senior team which will be competing in the European Cup in Dublin later this month.
Phil has also been selected to compete in the European Junior T&F Championships which are being held in Italy in July where she will compete in the 100m, 200m and the 4*100m relay.
Well done to Phil on these achievements.
Best of luck to all the athletes in action in Ennis at the first weekend of the Munster Juvenile T&F Championships this weekend and also to the older juveniles who will be in action the following weekend in Templemore.
Please ensure you are aware of the time your events are scheduled and allow for the events to be brought forward or delayed.
Make sure you check Munster site for any late announcements
Well done to Roisin Howard who competed in the England Athletics Combined Events Championships in Bedford last weekend. Roisin was having a decent heptathlon until an injury in the long jump restricted her to a standing throw for Javelin which turned out to be a PB
Unfortunately Roisin could not race the 800 due to injury.
Wishing Roisin a speedy recovery and I’m sure she will be back in action again soon.
The town park training area has recently seen the addition of a new and impressive throws cage.
This is a big improvement in both position and quality on the old cage and great credit needs to go to Paul Kingston who was the main man behind the planning and implementation of the cage.
The installation was done last Mon and when all was done Cian Kingston took the first throws from the cage.
Hopefully this new cage will make it easier for the hammer and discus throwers in the club to practice and improve.
Bandon A.C will once again be holding its very successful summer camp.
This years the dates are 8th to 12th July with the venue being the Bandon Grammar School.

Well done to all the Bandon athletes who competed in the Round 1 of the National League in Tullamore last Sunday, especially those who came out of semi-retirement or those who competed in events they would not be familiar with.
Both teams were missing a number of athletes due to exams, study and injuries but still put in some very good performances leaving both teams still in with a chance of making the league final in August.
Star performer on the day was Shane Howard who recorded win’s in the Hurdles, Pole Vault and High Jump.
