Unfortunately both Men’s and womens teams finished outside the podium places in the final of the National League in Tullamore on Sun 19th
The womens team (manager Liz Coomey) finished in 4th place in the Premier division and the men’s team (Manger Frank Stam) were 7th in the first Division.

The womens team were in contention right to the wire, needing to win the last event of the day which was the 4*400m relay the team put in a vallant effort but it was not to be but can be very proud of the effort put in at the top national club competition of the year.
The only win on the day for the womens team came in the Shot Putt with Laura McSweeney claiming the 9pts, she also finished 2nd in the Hammer. Phil Healy had a good days in the sprints finishing 2nd in the 200m and 4th in a high quality 100m, she was also a member of the 4*100m and 4*400m relays teams. Grainne Moynihan (Guesting from West Muskerry) placed 3rd in a 400m where the 1st and 2nd placed athletes are just back from the Olympics. Priscilla O’Sullivan (3rd in the 3000m Walk). Fiona Duggan (4th Discus) Carmel Crowley (7th 1500m and 7th 3000m). Aisling Everard (7th 800m), Orla Finn (400m Hurdles), Roisin Howard (5th 100m Hurdles, 4th Long Jump, 4th High Jump), Tracey Bradfield (8th Triple jump), Rachel Roche (5th Javelin), Helena Murphy (4th Pole Vault)

The mens’ team were in contention in the early part of the day but faded in the second part but can be very happy with the performances over the 3 days with what was basically a very young team.
The men’s only win can in the Hammer from Patrick McSweeney and he also finished 2nd in the Shot Putt.
