Very mixed weather at the Irish Universities Athletic Championships in the Mardyke on Fri and Sat. Very heavy rain for large parts of Sat made good performances very difficult.
Patrick McSweeney (UCC) won a Silver medal in the Shot Putt, Bronze in the Weight for Distance where he set a new UCC record, he just missing out on the Silver on count back, he also finished 4th in the Hammer.

Joan Healy (UCC) won Silver in the 100m and was also part of the 4*100m relay team which won Bronze.

These performances helped UCC win the Throws Trophy for the 1st time and also place 3rd in the Sprints Trophy and also 3rd in the Overall Points category.
Well done.
