There were two road races held on the 9th of February.
The Mealagh Valley 10 mile race was held near Bantry in West Cork and organised by Bantry AC. There were 77 finishers. This is a challenging 10 mile race and Tom Laffan of Bandon AC ran well to finish in 3rd in a time of 1:03:05. Eddie Wilmot was 24th in 1:14:39 and Steve Young was 51st in 1:27:19.
The Cork BHAA Jansen 4 mile road race was held on the Little Island circuit.
A large crowd of 405 runners took part. Carmel Crowley was 2nd female home in 23:56 while Tom Sheehan was 3rd over 45 finishing in 23:57.
