Report on recent road races by David Craig

Ballyandreen 5 Mile 22 may 2014,
This was the first race in the Ballycotton summer series. 654 runners took part. Tom Laffan finished 26th in 29:23 giving him 2nd place in the over 45s category.

Cork BHAA John Buckleys 5k 27/5/14.
This popular race was held on the flat marina circuit in Cork City and had 960 runners taking part. Bandon AC had a number of members running this race representing their various business.There were many fine performances, Kevin Wilmot finished 13th in 16:17, Tom Laffan was 3rd over 45 in 17:23, Ronnie Barry 176th in 19:38. Well to All Bandon AC members who competed.

Old Abbey AC 5k 30/5/14
72 Runners took part in this undulating 5k race in Goggins Hill near Ballinhassig.
David Craig finished 5th in 18:23, and Emmet Callan 22th in 23:25.

Belle of Ballincollig 5k 5/6/14
This race saw 264 runners taking part. Conditions were a little breezy but still a lovely evening for a road race. The race started and finished in Ballincollig Gaa grounds. Pauline Callan was 2nd female over 40 in 22:39 and David Craig was 9th in 1735.

Cork City Marathon 2nd June 2014.
Well done to all Bandon AC members who took part in the Cork City Marathon, Half Marathon and relays held on the 2/6/14, some great performances in all three events. Full results can be seen on the Cork Running Blog.
