After a long competitive season two U14 and three U15 girls took part in the National Combined Events last Saturday in Tullamore. In stark contrast with the pleasant weather in Cork, the girls had to face incessant rain and cold conditions in Tullamore. The standard was high as no medals could be obtained this time, while all of them got new high scores in their pentathlons. Moira Barrett set a new “Total points” club record in the GU15, and Aisling Cassidy did the same for the GU14. Altogether the girls got 18 personal bests out of 30 performances, that’s something to be proud of! ltogether the girls got 18 personal bests out of 30 performances, that’s something to be proud of!
