National Senior results

At the National Senior Track & Field Championships in Santry stadium over the weekend there was 4 club members in action.
On Sat, Danny Allen was 4th in his heat of the 200m and just missed qualifying to the final by around .8 of a second. Danny was also 4th in his heat in the 400m later in the day, but will have learned hugely from the experience in both races.
In the 100m heats, Phil Healy qualified comfortably for the final on Sun.
The u23 35lb Weight for Height was held on Sat with the senior version and Patrick McSweeney retained his title with a clearance of 4.75m and narrowly missed 5.00m. This was his 5th Weight for Height title in a row. Next year he will contest the senior 56lb for Height where he will attempt to follow on in the footsteps of Bandon legend Tadgh Twomey who won an incredible 18 Senior titles in the Weight for Height.
On the Sun, Phil Healy placed 5th in the final of the 100m and then later in the day narrowly missed out on a medal in the 200m placing 4th.
In the Senior Men’s Shot Putt Patrick McSweeney placed 3rd winning his first medal at National Senior level while in the women’s Shot Putt Laura McSweeney placed 6th.
