Twelve Bandon AC athletes made the long trip to compete at the National Juvenile Indoors Championships in Athlone last weekend.

Two gold medal performances were Laura Nicholson 1st U17 1500M in a time of 5:06.69 and Joe Gibson 1st U19 60M in a time of 7.03s. Joe Gibson’s run set himself a new PB and also a club record for the 60M.

Other performances of note missing out on medal positions against very strong competition were: Kate Bernard U18 60M 7.81s 4th Place, Mark Collins U14 Shot 10.23M 4th Place, Jane Buckley U14 800M 2:24.7 5th Place and Olivia Tuthill U15 1KM Walk 5:07.69 4th Place.
