FIT4LIFE REPORT JUNE 2016

BANDON AC COMMITTEE MEETING – FIT4LIFE REPORT JUNE 2016
May was a good month for FIT4LIFE Members with Members taking part in various local Road Races.
The Hammies 5K saw one of our Members – Ann McCarthy being the third Lady home.
From Beginners FIT4LIFE – Michelle McCarthy took on her first 10K at the Bantry Bay Run.
The Cheetah Run is always a very popular Run with FIT4LIFE Members – this year two of our Members took part.
On Sunday the 29th May, I organised a 5K Run at Castle Freak Wood – this was enjoyed by all and we had a get together afterwards in the Wood and had Tea, Coffee and Cakes.
The Cork City Half Marathon was a bit of a disappointment this year with Competitors being sent in the wrong direction which added a half a mile extra to the entire run. Also the dead heat did not help either. Despite this FIT4LIFE Members did well. 11 Members competed in the Half Marathon and one Member competed in the Marathon.
We were very fortunate to have a Relay Team this year as a lot of our Members have now excelled onto Half Marathon level.
Singlets were not delivered in time for the Half Marathon due to extreme Flooding in France and were caught in transit. These have now been delivered and Members are collecting these from me.
FIT4LIFE were invited by Bandon AC to attend a 5K Run in the Town Park and this was put up on Facebook for anyone who like to attend on the night.
That concludes the Report on FIT4LIFE
