Recent results

Well done to Frank Stam who was the only competitor from Bandon A.C. at the All-Ireland Masters Track and Field Championships in Tullamore on Sunday winning 3 national medals,
Frank won Gold in the Discus, Silver in the High Jump, Silver in the Weight for Distance and he also finished 4th in both the Shot Putt and in the Javelin.

Well done to all the athlete and coaches involved in the All-Ireland relays in Athlone yesterday, there was some impressive results.  Girls u12 won Bronze (Maia McCourt Amy McCarthy Laura Sheehy Victoria Good Caroline Wesol) Girls u16 were 6th in the final (Erin De Burca Stacey Komolafe Julie Sheehy Lauren McCourt Kate O’Neill)
Girls u18 were 5th in the final of the 4x100m (Niamh Callanan Alison Hathaway Moira Barrett Claire Roche Aoibhinn O’Connor) Girls u18 were 7th in the final of the 4x400m (Moira Barrett Niamh Callanan Alison Hathaway Claire Roche Aoibhinn O’Connor)
Boys u16 were 8th in the final (Liam Crowley Nicholas Greene Ben Mangan Dylan Chambers Tristan Chambers Mark Collins)
Boys u18 were 6th in the 4x100m and 4th in the 4×100 with the same team in both (Harry Hall Dave McInerney Gearld O’Donovan Thomas Beare)
Boys u19 were 5th (Cameron Blair Daniel Landzaad Dave McInerney Harry Hall)

At the National junior and u23 Championships in Tullamore on Sat 2nd.
In the u23 age group Laura McSweeney won the Shot Put and placed 3rd in both the hammer and the discus.
This was Laura’s 3rd u23 Shot Put title in a row and her 12th outdoor Shot Put underage title in a row, having won her first title at u12.
Thomas McCarthy was 12th in u23 800m
Scott Gibson contested the u23 400m and despite a good race just missed out on making the final. Joey Henchy finished 5th in his heat of the u23 100m and just missed out on fastest loser spot in the final.
Aisling Cassidy finished in 4th in the u20 Triple Jump and 5th in the High Jump
Plenty drama in the relays, u20 team of Cameron Blair, Dave McInerney, Harry Hall and Daniel Landzard competed in both the 4×100 and 4x400m and medalled in both! Silver in the 4x100m and Bronze in the 4x400m.
In the U23 4x100m the team of Joey Henchy, Scott Gibson, Niall Madden and Joe Gibson also finished in the medals winning Silver. Unfortunately Joey Henchy had a fall in the race and needed stitches as a result, so wishing Joey a fast recovery.
