PRO Report 15th Nov

The Club’s Annual General Meeting will be held on Friday 26th November at 8pm sharp at the Brogan Inn, Bandon.  All adult club members should endeavour to attend as well as parents of juvenile athletes.

There were some stellar performances by Bandon athletes at the recent Munster Uneven Age Cross Country Championships held in Charleville on 7th November.

A number of these athletes will now be going forward to represent their club at the All Ireland Uneven Age Championships to be held in Tullamore in December.   Moira Barrett finished in sixth place at girls U11 level with Laura Nicholson coming in 13th place.  Both were part of the gold medal winning Cork Team.  Also running well were Ciara McKeon, Ella Stack and Niamh Calnan. They also won the Club team gold medal.  The U11 boy’s team were unfortunate to only come second despite them all finishing well up the field. They all won gold though, as part of the Cork team. Conor Calnan finished in 8th place and Christian Buttimer twelfth.  Following on were Michael Laffan, 20th, and Aaron The Draper, 21st. Carina Crowley, Marie Dineen, Fiona Everard, Ingrid Burns, Eva Stack, Gráinne Lucey, Aideen Lynch and Rebecca Early all competed well at girls U13 level and the club finished in fourth place.  Aisling Everard finished the girls U15 race in 9th place and also won gold as part of the Cork team and has qualified to run at All Ireland level. At U19 level Mark O’Sullivan came in 14th position.

The Munster Masters and Juvenile B Cross Country Championships will be held in Dungarvan on Sunday 21st March and Sunday 28th November is the date for the Woodies DIY AAI  Inter County Cross Country Championships to be held in Derry.
