At the National Senior Track & Field Championships in Morton Stadium over the weekend there was just a small number of Bandon AC athletes in action.
Phil Healy had a great run in the 100m in a time of 11.49 and was given joint 1st place in a very tight race. Shane Howard finished in 2nd in the Long Jump with a jump of 7.16m In the Shot Putt Laura McSweeney was 6th place and Bobby Smith finished in 8th place in the Javelin.
The U23 Weight Over the Bar event was also held as part of these championships and Patrick McSweeney retained his title with a best of 4.75m.
