The Donough Coughlan Memorial Cup was presented by Ms Nora Coughlan to Naoise O’Flaitheartaigh from Bandon AC who was first across the line in a nail biting finish at the entrance of the GAA club. Naoise was closely followed by Leevale AC’s Eric Curran and Sean McGrath from East Cork AC. Leevale AC athlete Michelle Finn was first female over the line. Bandon AC athlete Carmel Crowley placed second and Linda O’Connor from Carrigaline AC placed third. Huge thanks to Bandon GAA for the use of their facilities;  Premier Timing Systems and the Irish Red Cross. Special mention and gratitude has to be given to the Committee (who spent hours organising this event) and the members and volunteers who willingly gave their time on the day to ensure its smooth running.
Whilst the 5k road race was taking place, our juvenile members were in Dromtarriffe competing in the B Cross Country championships.  In the girls under 9 Ava Deasy placed sixth for an individual medal. Jennifer Bamford placed ninth and Ellen Dollard twelfth.
Jack Keohane placed fifth for an individual medal in boys Under 9. Followed by Darragh Trunwit in 23rd and Jack O’Regan In 24 th.
The girls under 11 placed fifth overall. Caoimhe O’Regan placed second for an individual medal. Emma Trunwit, Holly O’Keeffe, Grace Tarrant and Maeve Dollard all competed and had great races.
Boys under 11;  Max Clover and Cathal Murphy placed fourth and sixth for individual medals each. They along with Conor Walsh and Dara Duggan received Team Silver for second. Jack Holland, Dylan Cronin and Colm Sexton all ran superbly.
The Girls Under 13 secured team Gold. Team comprised of Ruby Cummins who placed second  and Aoife Callan who placed third, both getting individual medals; Lily Murphy 13th and Natalia Dawidowicz 16th . Dilly Barry Twohig placed seventeenth.
In the boys under 13, Eoin Sexton, Cian Cronin and Richard Tarrant competed very well.
Individual medals presented to Ella Collins who was first and Sinead Crowley who was third in the girls under 15 race. Lucy O’Flynn placed seventh just missing out on medal.
