A huge thanks to Weldon O’Brien Ltd., who have come on board as our first Platinum Sponsor, sponsoring a very generous €5,000 for the Bandon AC Track Development.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Michael Weldon who has been hugely influential and given a tremendous amount of time chairing the Track Development Committee for a number of years, leading to the site purchase and grant of planning permission for the track. Michael continues to give very generously of his time to steer the development today, progressing now to the completion of the entrance and fencing, which can be seen in the background of the photo. Bandon AC are hugely appreciative of Michael’s time, dedication and this most generous donation to the Track Development.
Thank you Michael, Sinead and Weldon O’Brien Ltd.

Looking forward to a great 2022!
As 2021 draws to a close we wish all our members and families a very happy New Year for 2022!
It’s been a historic year for the club, with four Jnr athletes Fionn Harrington, Lauren McCourt, Nicola Tuthill and Diarmuid O’connor competing at the European Jnr Championships in July. Two of whom have accepted university places in the US. Phil Healy became the first Irish Athele to compete in 3 events at an OLYMPICS, one event of which, Phil was part of the Mixed 4×4 relay which made the Final.
Closer to home, we broke ground on our new site in December and are looking forward to following that progress in the new year.
At the recent AGM outgoing Chairman Patrick McSweeney acknowledged the incredible success during the year and the hard work which is ongoing behind the scenes on the track development. He thanked everyone for the support he has received over the years. Outgoing vice Chairman Adrian O’Flynn was nominated by Patrick McSweeney for the position of Chairman and Adrian was elected unopposed.
We cannot forgot the loss the club felt during the year with the passing of Billy Good. Billy had a big part to play in the purchase of the Track site. We also would like to remember Catherine Duggan who also played a massive role in the Club. Catherine had a long term dream for the club to have our own home to call ours.
Here’s to hoping 2022 will bring lots of happiness and plenty more success for the Club!!

AGM Nov 17th at 7:30pm Munster Arms Hotel
Reminder: Bandon AC will be holding its Annual General Meeting on Friday 19th Nov at 7:30pm. Venue is the Munster Arms Hotel.
Meeting is open to all registered members and parents of Juvenile members.
Looking forward to seeing a good turn out in these exciting times for the club.
Have a glimpse into the future!
This is an impression of what our track development could look like when completed!
Pretty impressive to think that instead of having to make the trip to Cork or further afield that athletes can make the short trip out the road to train in top class facilities.
No longer a field of dreams, this is now a field of potential.
Club members are working very hard behind the scenes to bring this to reality.
If you haven’t already done so, please support our efforts by donating to our GoFundMe page for track development
