Run2Portugal

Run2Portugal Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th June in Riverview Shopping Centre Bandon.
Sponsored 1500Km treadmill event to cover the distance form Cork – Portugal.
Volunteers required to run on any day and volunteers required for bucket collection for the 19th.

This is an important fundraiser for the U20 Boys and Girls team for the upcoming trip to Portugal where they will compete in the European Club Championships and also a very important opportunity to promote the club and the various aspects of it, such as Fit4Life and the hugely successful road running part of the club.

If anyone is available to run or collect on the 19th and/or 20th, then if they can either email bandonathleticclub@gmail.com or text the club phone at 087-1135500 saying what you are available for and what time.

All assistance much appreciated.

Sports in Aug

The program has been finalised for the Open Sports on 24th Aug which the club are holding to celebrate 50th years since the formation of the club.
This is a very comprehensive program with a large number of events for Juvenile, Junior and Senior athletes, as well as cash prizes for Junior and Senior events.
In tribute to athletics events in the past, there will be a number of cycle races also held as part of the event and I’m sure this will be the first time a number of people will have seen track cycling on grass.

The running order of events will be available in a few weeks as will more details of the logistics of the day itself.

So make a date….24th August in the Bandon Town Park with a 12 noon start for Juveniles and a 2pm start for Junior and Seniors
