County Juvenile T&F
Best of luck to all the club members who will be action at the County Juvenile T&F Championships in the CIT on Sun.
This will be a very busy day so athletes should be familiar with the timetable and when their events are on. Athletes should be at the track in plenty of time to allow warm up for events.
Athletes need to wear club singlet or club t-shirt for all events.
The timetable on the day can be delayed or move ahead of time so athletes need to pay attention to the PA announcements and go to events promptly when called.
Athletes should also play attention to what events are on before theirs so they can prepare in plenty time.
There will be much bigger numbers in the younger age groups so events for those ages will take much longer, for example the Girls U12 Shot Putt or Long Jump competitions could take an hour each to complete but the Boys U18 Shot Putt or Long Jump will only take approx 10mins each. This should be factored into working out when your events are on.
Athletes have been pre-entered and no entries or changes allowed on the day.
Details of Bandon entries are below. **Updated 2nd May **
Columns highlighted in yellow are events on the first day, May 5th
White columns are for events on the second day 12th May

The busiest athlete of the day was Patrick McSweeney in the U23 age group, who won Gold in each of Shot Putt, Hammer, Weight for Distance and Weight for Height, and won Silver in the Discus.
Phil Healy won Gold in the Junior womens 100m. Laura McSweeney won Silver in the Shot Putt and Bronze in the Hammer, and also placed 4th in the Discus. Fintan OβShaughnessy was 4th in the Junior menβs Long Jump with Shane Howard 5th in the same competition. Joey Henchy was 5th in the Junior mens 100m. In the Mixed 4*100m relays a Bandon team finished 3rd.
There were 14 Juvenile athletes from Bandon AC competing in the Munster Combined Events from U11 to U16, also in CIT on Sunday.
They all competed very well, covering five events in what was a gruelingly long day. Mark Collins won Gold in Boys U11, Aisling Cassidy won Silver in Girls U13 and Moira Barrett won Silver in Girls U14. Also competing were Jane & Tara Buckley, Sarah O Connor, Ellie O Donovan, Laura Nicholson, Ciara McKeon, Aoife Buckley, Fionn Harrington, Andrew O Leary, Ruairi Harrington & Colin Deane, some of whom finished with points that would have earned them medals in previous years.
Half Marathon Info for walkers
We are delighted to offer an opportunity for walkers to join in this sports event being organised by Bandon Rugby and Bandon Athletic club on Saturday May 11th. As you know the event is organised to raise funds to further develop and support the young athletes across both clubs. All walkers must register in advance of the walk and registrations will be taken on the Friday evening before and on the morning of the walk up to 8:45am in the Bandon Rugby club.
We have looked at providing a safe walking route with a view to bringing walkers into finish area at around the same time as the main group of runners. This will give all a taste of the finish atmosphere. The walking route is about 7 miles long.
